The game room is equipped with Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One S and Nintendo Switch OLED -consoles as well as HTC Vive and PSVR-virtual reality glasses. We also have Dobble card game and floor curling that you can play in the gaming room. You have to book the room at the customer service desk with your library card. Virtual reality glasses are only available for customers over 12 years of age.
Game room
Valkeakoski city library has a game room situated at the youth services department.
- Gaming time is one hour per day, for VR glasses 30 minutes.
- You have to book the room, console and the game you want to play at the library’s customer service desk or by calling. Games are held at the customer service desk.
- You can only have one reservation at the time for the passing week.
- Every single player has to have their PIKI library card with them. The game, console and controllers must be borrowed with each customer’s own card. VR games for HTC Vive glasses are installed beforehand to the computer. Pay attention to the age limits of the games!
- VR glasses are only for customers over 12 years of age.
- Games, consoles and controllers are meant to be used in the library. Do not take them home, please.
- Note that New Nintendo 2DS XL- console is currently loanable only for home use. Ask for more information at the customer service desk!
- Only customers that have booked the room are allowed in. Please do not let outsiders inside the room.
- Food and drinks are not allowed in the game room in order to keep the devices clean.
- Please leave your shoes and outwear on the coat rack outside the game room.
- Players are responsible for the games and devices during their booking. At the end of the gaming time, the devices will be checked by the staff. Please return the game or games you were playing at the customer service desk after your gaming time. You can leave the controllers, VR headsets and remote controllers in the game room. Please report to the staff when you leave the room.
- If you break the rules, you will be put to an entry ban.
